The Indiana Office of Technology together with Brooksource, our State Earn and Learn IT Program consultant team, held the first IOT Robotics Competition last month at the Indiana Government Center.

Winning teamThirty teams of middle and high school Robotics students braved the snowstorm Indianapolis endured the night before to participate in the inaugural event.

The government center hosted over 300 people, where teams could find everything they need for competition, including a snack shop that was open to the public.

Franklin Central High School and Greenfield Central High School both won the overall tournament award with high scores!

Over 30 volunteers from multiple state agencies donated their time that Saturday to help score, judge, reset and help all teams and the public to get where they need to be.

Moving from GovDelivery to Marketing Cloud

In February, the Indiana Office of Technology (IOT) held the first meeting on the new Citizen Engagement Platform, Marketing Cloud, for all current GovDelivery administrators.

The GovDelivery contract will be ending on June 30, 2024, with the goal to have the Marketing Cloud migration completed by 5/31/24.

The project team has put together some FAQs on general questions and specific questions on Marketing Cloud. You will need to log in with your network account in order to view the FAQs.

Each agency currently in GovDelivery will be notified by the project team to fill out a questionnaire on specific items that the agency needs moved over.

Moving forward, the implementation team will also be providing a demo of the tool and hands-on training opportunities.

If you would like, feel free to watch these videos provided by Salesforce - Marketing Cloud Basics, or take a guided tour through Marketing Cloud.

Behind the Tech: Mariah Sanders

Mariah SandersMariah Sanders is in accounts payable and accounts receivable in IOT's fiscal department. She just moved over to procurement in November, and is working on her training now.

An average day for Mariah includes paying invoices, depositing checks/EFT’s, and requesting invoice approvals.

What's her favorite thing about her job?

"My favorite thing about the job are my co-workers. They are a great group of knowledgeable individuals."

What's the hardest ticket she's had?

"The hardest ticket has been a challenge with Adobe. An employee would send in their W-2 and DD forms but, when I would open the documents, they were blank for me but filled out for them!"

What does she hope to take away from her work at IOT?

"I hope to take away the full impact of my work for the State of Indiana. I get caught up in the everyday tasks and tend to forget about the large impact IOT has on our community."
