Indiana Seeks to Eliminate SUTA Dumping

Indiana is aggressively pursuing employers who engage in various tax avoidance and tax manipulation practices. Most frequently called SUTA (State Unemployment Tax Act) dumping, these illegal and deceptive practices cost Indiana taxpayers millions of dollars each year.

In 2006, Indiana Workforce Development will increasingly continue to crackdown on SUTA dumping practices and introduce strict penalties, in addition to penalties that currently apply. The new penalties will be applied to those directly attempting rate manipulation or those who advise such practices to others.
