Indiana Trails Inventory
The Indiana Trails Inventory was compiled by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Outdoor Recreation. Its purpose is to provide information on all public trails in Indiana. The information about the trails came directly from trail providers—those agencies and organizations which manage and maintain the trails. A survey form was sent to all known city and county park and recreation agencies, Department of Natural Resources’ properties, federal agencies that manage recreation land in Indiana, and not-for-profit organizations that are involved in trail development.
Only trails for which information was received are included in this inventory. Some of the trails may have changed since the inventory form was completed. Therefore, in reviewing this report, consider it a somewhat incomplete snapshot of Indiana’s public trails as they are reported to us. All reports will be updated as new information is received from the trail managing agencies.

Important Note to agencies and organizations managing trails: if information on trails for which you are responsible is missing or incorrect, please complete and submit a Trails Inventory Update Form. The form can be completed online then submitted by printing and mailing or faxing to DNR Outdoor Recreation.
