The DHPA partners with Indiana University and Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana to host the annual Preserving Historic Places: Indiana's Statewide Preservation Conference. This statewide conference is the official forum for preservation issues in Indiana.
Relevant session topics are chosen based on the host community. Speakers regularly include preservationists from around the state, as well as national figures. The conference features an opening reception, plenary and concurrent sessions, a keynote speaker, and tours of preservation highlights in the host community. Some sessions are free and open to the public, while others require a registration fee.
Who should attend?
This conference features presentations by local, regional and national experts on various aspects of historic preservation and archaeology issues. The conference provides an opportunity for novices and practitioners (preservationists, teachers, county historians, municipal and county planners, directors and board members) to meet speakers and each other in a congenial setting.
Join us April 7 - 9, 2010 in New Harmony, Indiana. View the tentative programand check back for registration information, hotel information, and more details.
