Yellowwood State Forest: Beginning in late June we will lower the lake by 8.5 feet to allow us to continue the dredging project at the north end of the lake. Beginning around July 15 dry dredging at the north end will continue from where we left off in 2008. By October 1 we will stop the project and the lake will be allowed to fill completely. Additional fishing structures will be added to the lake bed before the lake fills.
In 2010 we will grade out the silt pile and reshape a new elevated campground. New grills and tables will be installed. Playground equipment and toilets will be installed and the area will be open again for camping in the fall of 2010.
Jackson –Washington State Forest: Knob Lake has returned to normal pool and has been stocked with fingerling bass, bluegill and redear. Also, beginning June 17, 2009, the historic fire tower will be disassembled and lowered in 4 to 5 sections for much needed rehabilitation. New boards, fencing and paint are planned for the tower. Completion is anticipated sometime this fall.
