Indiana residents must title their newly acquired vehicles no later that 31 days from the date of purchase. Failure to do so will result in the assessment of a $21 delinquent fee.
Within 60 days of becoming an Indiana resident, a person must obtain a certificate of title for all of their vehicles. All motor vehicles, trailers, semi-trailers, mobile homes, recreational vehicles and recreational trailers must be titled.
Indiana residents may title their vehicles in any license branch throughout the state. They are not required to title in their county of residence.
Please note that on April 1, 2008, Indiana adopted a seven percent sales tax.
