The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles has nine reinstatement centers to serve your needs. These locations offer a convenient service that allows eligible drivers to reinstate a suspended license as an over-the-counter transaction.
Driver records are also available for purchase at a reinstatement centers.
Business Hours
Hours for all reinstatement centers are:
Monday: CLOSED
Tuesday: 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Wednesday: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Sunday: CLOSED
Important information for your visit
Driver licenses may be reinstated for the following suspensions:
- Out-of-state tickets that have been paid with case number and receipt.
- Defensive driving reinstatements (Reinstatement centers cannot schedule classes or give extensions)
- Failure to prove insurance compliance following an accident or traffic violation
- SR 22 (Proof of financial responsibility for a mandatory three (3) year period)
- SR 50 (Proof of current financial responsibility)
- Court abstracts: SR 16 (issued when a ticket is paid)
Please note:
- Reinstatements for writing a bad check to the Bureau will continue to be processed at the BMV's administrative offices located at Indiana Government Center North, 100 N. Senate Ave., Room N440. All other reinstatements can be processed at a reinstatement center.
- License reinstatements can only be processed for walk-in transactions at the Service Centers listed.
- No reinstatements or information regarding an individual's driver license or suspension can be processed by phone or mail.
